Milo/Grain Sorghum Harvest – 2017

We began our milo harvest on September 20, 2017 on the field we call Farvers.  It was irrigated grain sorghum. We have 110 acres of grain sorghum to harvest this year. We had just finished up our corn harvest the day before. Milton had to change the combine header and make a few adjustments before heading to the field.

Our daughter drove me out to the field so we could give Dad some supper.

He stopped for a bit to visit with her and catch up on our days.

I was able to get some instagram video and good photos while in the field.

I headed back home by foot while PV rode in the combine for a bit.  I have been working on exercise and getting healthier since January of this year.  You can read about it on my other blog Pushing Forward with Grace if you care to.  PV drove the “mule” home and of course beat me although I started way before her!

This is a shot of the grain sorghum that was harvested from this field. I think it looks so very pretty!  I love the colors of milo throughout it’s growing season!
