Wheat Harvest 2017 – Closer than we think!

Wheat Farver 2017 JuneOur wheat harvest is just around the corner!  You can feel it in the air and the intensity is picking up on a daily basis!  The hubs is busy getting that last few acres of grain sorghum (milo) planted before cutting the golden loveliness that lines the roadsides. The rust orange colored crop won’t be ready till fall so it’s time for us to focus on #wheat17 !

Milo planting 2017

The days are filled with preparing equipment to do it’s best for 10 to 12 long days, clean up the grain bin complex, deal with family issues, and attend our daughter’s softball games.  Just to name a few things on our lists.

I saw last night on my Facebook feed there are some cutting wheat and delivering to the elevators right here in our county.  I am still amazed that it will be this early.  I am sure it all is happening because we have some of my family coming in and a bbq we’re hosting this coming Saturday. 🙂

I hope to blog periodically throughout our wheat harvest this year, but time tends to get away from me.  So the best way to follow along is to check out our Facebook Page or Instagram.  Be sure to like and share on that Facebook page because otherwise your bound to miss a few shots and they might just be ones you’re interested it!

Here’s hoping our wheat harvest 2017 goes smoothly, that if there are breakdowns they are fixed in a timely manner.  That the meals are good nourishment and the roads are safe for all.  That patience magically continues when day 6 or 7 hit and that when sleep is available our bodies drink it up!  Most of all I pray for my husband and our crew are kept safe.

Until next time!  Thanks for stopping by!

Julie
